Reflections:
Section 3.1 (Radians) didn't go very well- I actually had to ask Mr. Klankey to step in and help b/c I couldn't connect the idea of radians to what the kids already knew- the link I was missing was Circumference=2pi. He also explains radians as wrapping a number line around the outside of the circle. Mr. K suggested I look at the sketchpad exploration books he gave me for help explaining. We talked about picking and choosing which concepts we want the kids to really know and which ones they may just have to memorize (b/c they may not be ready to understand it yet). Hopefully tomorrow goes better.
3-4 I should have done sometime inquiry based/ more world applications because I totally missed the opportunity and direct taught and we had a lot of extra time (which they used to study) but still... dammit- I hate that
Another idea Mr. Klankey mentioned: facebook profiles for trig functions- co functions are friends, domains are cities, etc
